"Hutton" Recycled Disc Beads

$22.00

Beads measure approximately 4 x 14mm with a hole size of 3mm. Full strand is approximately 24" long. Can be used as decor, jewelry or broken down to use each bead individually! Each strand sold separately.

Recycled glass beads are a type of indigenously produced African bead from Ghana, West Africa.

Pulverized glass is poured into clay molds using a cassava stem for the bead's hole. The mold is placed in a furnace and heated until the glass particles come together and the stem burns out. The Ghanaians have been making beads this way since the 1600s.
